Dear All, I recommend to use avast. it's free if you don't download it it for professional use. It always works well for me, I've tried many other, even paid for them.
I'd recommend, if you pay for a service, and have problem with the download, call the provider immediately and ask for a support.

Are you using a router or is your computer hooked up directly to the Comcast modem? If you aren't using a router your computer has a public IP address and you are just asking for trouble.

i use antivir (free Version) and comodo firewall (also free Version) they work fine for me, and as a word of caution, don't use Norton, it is known to slow down a pc, and also known not to detect everything

AVG also works quite well..

We had a virus/trojan infection on a couple of the lab PC's at the local JC. We have Symantec (corporate edition) installed, and it could not find the infection. Just for kicks and giggles, I downloaded AVG, and scanned again. AVG found it in a heartbeat..
